General

The most fun board game I've ever played.

We have properly tested it on 8-80 year olds, all of whom loved it. The game is for everyone, and can be a fun family game or a competitive thing for nerds.

It depends on the amount of people playing: 2 players doesn’t tend to take long, just 10-20 minutes. For 3 or 4 players the time can be highly variable, up to 45 minutes.

I started this for a lockdown school project back in April 2020 when I was just 12 years old, played it with my dad and had a load of fun, so we kept developing it. After a while we thought “this game is one of the best we’ve ever played, let’s show the world”.

You can’t, yet. You can pre-order, and once we have numbers we will produce some. We are also hoping to sell them at stores like the warehouse, in the long run.

It’s hard to say exactly, with it being such a versatile game. You have to have a decent amount of skill and take your chance weighing up odds and forming temporary alliances, but be prepared for the tables to turn and your strategy to change every move!

No. We used Lego initially, so you may see this in some of our earlier design. As we can't use this for production we decided to develop our own. The avatars are created and produced by us, specifically for RoA. Click here for a preview.

If you lose a piece, try using a substitute from other figurines you may have - it just might fit!

Game Rules

Roll a die. The winner takes the loot!

There's no single best setup. Try starting with a symetrical layout per the quick setup section. As you play more you can vary the layout as you please. Variations can make a real difference to strategy and how each game plays out. Just remember not to set the lochs out such that movement is blocked. Here's a few ideas to get you thinking.

If you manage to win all eight pieces of gold and get back to your castle, declare yourself "Master of the Realm" - our highest honour! This is possible but no-one has ever achieved this in the the last two years of play. Let us know if manage it.

If a battle ends in a draw, players have a "roll off" with the 20-side die to see who wins.

No. You are capped at twelve and must disregard any further increases.
